Freedom Fighter

  Just bought an original  copy of this striking tribute to the French Résistance's contribution to the Liberation of France, drawn by Ernest H. SHEPARD & published in Punch magazine on August 16, 1944.

 To the best of my knowledge, it is one of the earliest instances where the naval striped jersey worn by some Breton résistants was associated with Onion Seller imagery.
